The Decommission Analyst is primarily responsible for defining the strategy and creating the plan for execution of sunsetting legacy systems as they are no longer needed.
In addition to the duties discussed in the Role Description, the Decommission Analyst is responsible for the following:
1) Technical Expertise:
Developing enterprise strategy for decommissioning applications and systems
Researching and understanding data retention requirements at both an organizational and state/federal government perspective for clinical, revenue, authorization/referral managed care, provider and end-user access/authorization data
Defining requirements for conversion of source data to archival destination, if needed
Developing a migration strategy to remove applications/databases, etc. from existing hardware for migration to another storage solution
Executing the migration strategy and overseeing the creation of access/views that may be needed for those who require access to new storage solution
Developing and executing a deactivation process, including running down/closing out old business systems
Providing input to the legacy system teams as needed to support the decommission efforts
Supporting the planning, requirements definition process, and analysis of legacy data for conversion programs and decommissioning
2) Overall Project Support:
Maintaining a detailed issues and risks log to be reviewed on standing conference calls with Epic and other vendors as applicable
Supporting all project team members with application and information systems knowledge
Primary resource dedicated to decommissioning applications and databases impacted by the Epic implementation and other application implementations
Providing information to the training team regarding the use/access of decommissioned systems for inclusion in application specific training curriculums and materials
3) Documentation Support:
Developing, supporting, and maintaining documentation and procedures as needed
Preferred: Bachelor s degree in Health Care, Information Technology, Business or related field
Minimum: Associates Degree or five (5) or more years of related experience providing advanced application support
Preferred: Five (5) years experience relevant experience in a health care setting
Minimum: One (1) year of relevant experience in a health care setting
