Position Summary:
The DevOps Engineer will work collaboratively with software engineering and product teams to deploy and operate our systems. The selected applicant will automate and streamline our operations and processes to maximize efficiency. Additional activities are to build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations and troubleshoot and resolve issues in both our internal and external customer environments. This position will support InEight Development, Test, and Production environments in AWS and Azure. This is a lead position expected to guide and manage a DevOps team.
Responsibilities:
Implement and Support InEight's applications infrastructure in AWS and Azure utilizing IaaS and PaaS Services
Proactively identify and reduce issues through design, testing, and implementation of software-based solutions
Drive efficiencies through software improvement and root cause analysis resulting in service delivery, maturity, and scalability
Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
Adhere to company security policies and effectively control access to data
Maintain documentation for IT processes, procedures, automation, trouble tickets, network configurations, hardware/software inventory, and audit requests
Off-hours and on-call work as required
Create and configure AWS and Azure resources that support our custom applications.
Collaborate with Engineering and Program Management partners to translate customer, business, and technical requirements into architectural designs and feature releases
Continually investigate methods to improve system reliability and performance.
Automate software builds, configuration, and deployments to testing and production environments
Present technical materials to technical audiences
Personnel management of team members
Qualifications:
Minimum 7+ years' experience in the IT field or a related discipline
Minimum 5+ years' experience operating large scale distributed services
Minimum 2+ years' experience with AWS and related resources, particularly PaaS and IaaS
Must have experience performing work in a DevOps environment
SQL knowledge is preferred
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Construction Industry experience is preferred
Demonstrated scripting ability (Bash or PowerShell preferred)
A strong understanding of integrations, particularly RESTful API's
Understanding of application architecture and design needed to provide operations perspective to developers and product team
Experience with monitoring platforms
Must possess the ability to direct and act as a resource for less experienced team members and relay necessary information as appropriate
Experience leveraging cloud architecture, applying site reliability principles, and/or demonstrating sensitivity to operational concerns
Full-stack troubleshooting skills across the network, application, hardware, management fabric, and distributed services layers
Knowledge of disaster recovery preparedness and response
Leadership skills and/or training
DevOps team structure experience
