Test Engineer II/III
This position will create and execute test plans within the test engineering department. The department also performs integrated system tests. This position will also be called upon to assist the engineering group in the development of test plans for engineering and the manufacturing group in the development of test plans for manufacturing and to manage and expedite those test programs. Provides technical expertise in testing and product knowledge.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Participate in completing Process Safety Management (PSM) activities for new and existing processes to ensure all safety considerations are addressed with sufficient countermeasures assuring personnel safety and environmental compliance.
Supports activities to generate required technical inputs for proposals including but not limited to; Applicable data deliverable definitions, testing cost estimates and other technical support to Program Management, Applications Engineering and Business Development.
Actively participates in Sales Order Kick Off (SOKO) meetings. Completes a thorough review of proposed vs. contracted testing requirements necessary to complete the job prior to the scheduled SOKO meeting. Completes work to close any requirement gaps identified at the SOKO meeting prior to the work order release of the job to the production floor.
Actively participates in Sales Order Close Out (SOCO) meetings. Document technical lessons learned throughout the life of the contract; e.g. test issues, test material or specification obsolescence, etc. Items identified in these meetings will be incorporated into action items on or before award of the next contract. Lessons learned should drive corrections or improvements for any future contracts
Provide supervision in fabrication of testing and test control apparatus and equipment.
Directs and coordinates activities relevant to development, identification, procurement, installation, verification, and calibration of upgraded test equipment and instrumentation and control devices required to test, record, and reduce test data.
Determines conditions, and schedules under which tests are to be conducted. 8. Generates qualification test plans, procedures and reports (QTP's and QTR's).
Generates Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP's).
Participate in mechanical fixture design to include vibration and shock holding fixtures.
Participate in electronic test fixture design as required.
Analyzes and interprets test data and preparation of test reports for submittal to management and PacSci EMC customers.
Confers with engineering and technical personnel to resolve testing problems, such as product or system malfunctions, equipment problems, incomplete test data, and/or data interpretation.
Participate in team efforts in the area of test efficiency and cycle time reduction.
Train technicians to perform product testing.
Generate Work Orders, Statements of Work and Requisition for sub-contracted testing.
Interface with sub-contractor representatives to insure that PacSci EMC requirements and schedules are met.
Perform other related duties as assigned
BS degree in Engineering
Electro-mechanical experience preferred.
Experience in VHDL programming is a plus.
Experience in the aerospace or energetic materials field, preferably in a production atmosphere.
Knowledge of Quality systems and practices a must.
Good working knowledge of MS Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Working knowledge of Access, Visio and Project a plus.
Interpersonal skills promoting effective interaction with other staff, customers and suppliers.
Test Engineer II:
Responsibilities and duties as outlined in Section A and Section B.
Champions 5S, Continuous Improvement and LEAN.
Ability to work with minimal supervision in prioritizing and performing daily work supporting factory deliverables. May require close supervision and direction on complex or difficult tasks/efforts
Actively participate in problem solving teams related to anomalies that manifest during production and testing as well as customer complaints or field returns.
Participates in capital acquisition tasks for test equipment and/or test facility modifications.
3-7 years of experience in the aerospace or energetic materials field, preferably in a production atmosphere. Knowledge of Quality systems and practices a must. Computer knowledge required.
Test Engineer III:
Responsibilities and duties as outlined in Section A, Section B and Test Engineer II
Ability to work independently in prioritizing daily work supporting factory deliverables. Requires little to no supervision and direction on complex or difficult tasks/efforts. May provide technical guidance and mentorship to lower level engineers
SME in the area of 5S, Continuous Improvement and LEAN.
Adept at using Visual to setup Engineering Masters for test cards.
Performs test data trend analysis to optimize test parameters and to provide feedback to Design Engineering when data is not optimal.
Demonstrated ability to lead team efforts for capital acquisitions of test equipment or facility modifications.
Understanding of cost accounting (SPI/CPI) and Program Management for test programs.
Possesses working knowledge in prescribed company business systems
7-10 years of experience in the aerospace or energetic materials field, preferably in a production atmosphere. Knowledge of Quality systems and practices a must. Computer knowledge required
