As a member of Gallagher's corporate tax team, this role is responsible for assisting with a variety of state and local tax work streams, including tax accounting, compliance preparation, and support with mergers and acquisitions.
Assist in preparation of information for external tax preparers and assist in reviewing multistate and local corporate income/franchise tax filings.
Assist with multistate and local corporate income/franchise tax audits.
Prepare & analyze the impact of proposed and enacted legislation. Support multistate and local tax planning by researching tax law, preparing memos to explain state implications of filing positions and modeling.
This position will interact regularly with State & Local Income Tax Team, Federal Income Tax, International Income Tax, Accounting, and Finance Teams.
Assist in preparing calculations of state impact to quarterly tax provision.
Prepare state tax journal entries to be submitted to accounting.
Bachelor's degree in accounting
1-2 years of tax experience with regional/national CPA firm or a corporate tax department
Strong computer skills in Excel and PowerPoint with a focus toward automated solutions and improved operational outcomes. OneSource and Corptax software experience is a plus, in addition to general ledger platform experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Results oriented with the ability to solve problems and work in a team environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
