Accounts Payable Clerk

Description Are you currently looking for a new position? A company in the Manufacturing industry has partnered with Robert Half to find an Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk. The Accounts Payable (A/P) Clerk role offers an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of a company in the Manufacturing industry. Located in Granite City, Illinois, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be a long-term contract / temporary position. In this progressive department, career growth and quick advancement is possible. The Accounts Payable Clerk matches and batches code invoices, resolves A/P issues, processes expense reports, updates and reconciles sub-ledger to G/L, and processes checks.

Major responsibilities

• Complete special projects on an as-needed basis

• Assist the AP/Finance Department with administrative tasks

• Handle daily department mail by opening, sorting, and distributing it

• Sort, register, scan, and store invoices, checks, and other documents

• Help with internal and external audits as required

• Accomplish full-cycle A/P

• Handle the customer service needs of internal business partners

• Manage validating, recording, and mailing checks and expedite special handling

• Accurately execute daily processes and controls in a timely manner while ensuring company policies are followed Requirements - Excellent attention to detail

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with those in the technical and financial backgrounds

• Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired

• Data entry experience

• Knowledge of SAP

• Numeric data entry experience

• Encoding check processing experience

• 2+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred

• AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

• Spreadsheet and database capabilities
