General Summary

In collaboration with the physician and practice manager, provides diagnosis and treatment of patients within the scope of practice as defined by all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, protocols, etc. and within the individual Advanced Practice Provider's (APP) clinical specialty area, licensure, and competency level. Performs acts of medical diagnosis or prescription of medical therapeutic or corrective measures as appropriate.

About the Opportunity:

• Exciting opportunity in join a busy practice with a large patient base

• Position includes clinical and administrative responsibilities

• Facilitates communication as a liaison between Surgeons and APPs; coordinates clinical/outpatient/hospital schedules

• Works with supervising/collaborating physicians and practice manager to address performance concerns and complete annual evaluations

• Acts as a resource, educator/preceptor, and consultant to staff and students

• Orients new Advanced Practice Providers and oversees their growth/development

• Clinical responsibilities in both the outpatient and inpatient settings

• Performs patients rounds with accurate assessment of patient's physical status, overall progress, and current laboratory evaluation

• Assists physician in operating room during surgery; Surgical First Assist required

Qualifications

Minimum Education

• Bachelors Degree For Physician Assistant. Required or

• Masters Degree For Nurse Practitioner. Required

• Masters Degree Preferred

Work Experience

• 1 year Relevant experience. Required

Licenses

• Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner Upon Hire Required or

• National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Upon Hire Required and

• Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire Required

Courses and Training

• Appropriate clinical specialty certification. Upon Hire Required and

• Surgical First Assist

• Nurse Practitioner - Completion of an accredited program for nurse practitioners. Upon Hire Required or

• Physician Assistant - Graduate of accredited physician assistant program. Upon Hire Required
