  • SEL makes communication and cybersecurity solutions for the operational systems of the worlds critical infrastructure. These systems include the energy, water, manufacturing, oil & gas, and many more markets. These communication systems need to operate at the highest level of safety, reliability and security. SEL seeks a talented and motivated networking and cybersecurity engineer to join our growing team in R&D. As an application engineer, you'll provide design, testing, and educational support to help the SEL and our customers understand how to apply our innovative and every expanding capabilities of our solutions.

    As an Application Engineer, a typical day might include the following:

    • Providing training to other divisions at SEL so they understand how to teach, sell, support, and market our communication and cybersecurity solutions

    • Help support our field application engineering teams as they support our customer applying these solutions to their system.

    • Support the R&D development teams in the design and requirements specifications for next generation solutions.

    • Participate in SEL marketing and sales activities, industry technical meetings, and conferences.

    • Publish application guides, technical videos, software tools, and technical papers

    This job might be for you if:

    • You possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar engineering degree

    • Typically 5+ years of experience in operational technology (OT) communications and cybersecurity

    • Ability to travel up to 25%

    • Take on tough challenges and creatively find ways to apply your knowledge to innovate tomorrows solutions

    Pay Range Data

    We anticipate filling this position as a Application Engineer II $79,400.00 - $124,000.00. We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location. We base our starting pay offer and title on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
