    Job Summary:

    • 34 total beds.

    • Dedicated pediatric cardiac-specialized nurses.

    • CPCU attendings and vital core of advanced care providers.

    • Active mechanical assist program.

    • Active member and participant in PC3.

    • Extensive opportunities for clinical, translational, and acute care registries.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provides care for patients admitted to the CPCU. These patients are admitted through the CHC emergency department, transferred from outside institutions, direct admissions, and transfers from the CICU.

    • Experience and familiarity with heart disease in patients from neonates to adults with congenital heart disease.

    • Supervision of patient care and progression in partnership with Advanced Practice Providers, pediatric cardiology fellows, pediatric residents, and medical students.

    • Partnership with cardiology nursing leadership and bedside nurses.

    • Develop, implement and promote educational and support resources.

    • Participate in PAC3 multi-institutional database and liaison with like institutions and units.

    • Develop clinical guideline pathways and quality improvement initiatives.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

    • Doctor of Medicine (MD)/Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).

    • Board Certified in Pediatrics.

    • Board Eligible/Certified in Pediatric Cardiology.

    Condition of Employment:

    • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado

    • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

    The Heart Institute Inpatient Services are comprised of two units: Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (CPCU) and the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU).     The starting salary range () for this position has been established as $231,000-260,000. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
