  • General Description:

    The Federal Account Director will be responsible for developing, communicating, and implementing Strategic Business Plans for assigned accounts and expanding corporate relationships with key oncology stakeholders. These stakeholders will consist of VA/DOD Pharmacy Staff, medical directors, pharmacists, and other decision makers in assigned accounts. Customers include but not limited to VA/DoD, IHS (Indian Health Services) PHS, AMSUS and Health Systems. Hospital and Community accounts including HOPA. The FAD's will collaborate extensively with the Regional Sales Directors, Division Mangers, Sales Account Managers, Market Access Marketing, and other market access colleagues to remove barriers to product access.

    Essential Functions of the job:

    • Develop and implement market access strategies for assigned accounts (VA/DoD, IHS, PHS Federal accounts, AMSUS and Health Systems groups including HOPA.

    • Facilitate introductions to appropriate medical affairs colleagues for presentation opportunities.

    • Establish corporate relationships with key account stakeholders.

    • Support patient access and field reimbursement.

    • Collaborate with internal cross functional partners to implement corporate strategies with targeted accounts.

    • Communicate with field sales management to facilitate optimal access and remove barriers to entry.

    • Manage successful implementation of contracts and agreements with assigned accounts.

    • Identify partnership opportunities through market research, landscape analysis and customer interactions.

    Required Qualifications:

    • BS degree with 10 plus years of related pharmaceutical experience is necessary with at least 7 years of direct experience in corporate account management in oncology of VA accounts.

    • Experience in Federal contracting and account management.

    • Oncology therapeutic experience required; oral and IV oncology strongly preferred.

    • Biotech or pharmaceutical US marketplace launch experience required.

    • Demonstrated ability think strategically, manage accounts effectively by objectively evaluating various opportunities.

    • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including ability to synthesize data and deliver a clear overview of field market access issues, challenges, and successes.

    • Record of successful account management experience.

    • Strong negotiating skills required.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • No direct supervision, high level of cross functional collaborations with internal stakeholders

    Computer Skills:

    • Standard Computer Skills required.

    Travel:

    • Approximately 50% of time.
