    Position Summary

    Reporting to Senior Director, Enterprise Executive and Business Communications, the Associate Director of Leadership Communications is responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies and programs that effectively inform and engage both internal and external stakeholders about Bristol Myers Squibb's (BMS) technology and digital innovation initiatives. This role plays a crucial part in shaping external messaging and storytelling related to the company's digital efforts and supports the organization's communications.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the creation and execution of comprehensive external communication strategies and programs that effectively communicate BMS' technology and digital innovation efforts.

    • Partnering with the Thought Leadership team, drive and execute a 360-degree thought leadership program in support of the company Chief Digital & Technology Officer, ensuring alignment with overall corporate messaging and objectives.

    • Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including executives, industry influencers, and media contacts, to enhance BMS' reputation and promote understanding of the company's technology and digital initiatives.

    • Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in technology, digital innovation, and their impact on the healthcare industry, leveraging insights to enhance BMS' communication strategies and programs.

    • Track and evaluate the effectiveness of communication initiatives, using metrics and analytics to assess impact and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

    • Collaborate with embedded functional change and communications teams to support internal communications efforts.

    Key Qualifications

    • Approximately 8 years of corporate communications experience in pharmaceutical or similar highly regulated industry. Experience supporting company technology efforts preferred.

    • Bachelor's degree required.

    • Excellent writing and research skills, with knowledge of AP style and a keen attention to detail.

    • Self-directed with proven ability to meet tight deadlines and balance multiple initiatives of importance.

    • Proficiency with digital media and internal/external social media platforms.

    • Strong business acumen, with a demonstrated ability to understand and translate business strategy into impactful communications.

    • Proven experience counseling and supporting senior-level executives.

    • Exceptional collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively within the department and across the matrixed organization with other teams to achieve stated goals.

    • Self-directed with proven ability to meet tight deadlines and balance multiple initiatives of importance.

    BMS has a diverse occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. This structure includes site-essential, site-by-design, field-based and remote-by-design jobs. The occupancy type that you are assigned is determined by the nature and responsibilities of your role:
