Bookkeeper

Description

We have an excellent Assistant Bookkeeper role open located in Melville, NY. This is a hybrid position.

Responsibilities

• Process customer credit applications in an accurate and efficient manner

• Maintain and update customer credit records regularly

• Resolve customer credit inquiries promptly and professionally

• Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate action when necessary

• Assist Controller with day-to-day responsibilities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and bank reconciliations

• Utilize QuickBooks for various financial transactions and reporting

• Ensure all credit related procedures and policies are adhered to

• Provide support to the Controller as needed in various financial tasks

• Assist in the identification and resolution of any discrepancies or financial issues

• Ensure confidentiality of all financial data.

Requirements - Minimum 3 years of experience in a bookkeeping role

• Proficiency in QuickBooks is required

• Experience in the automotive industry is preferred

• Proven ability to maintain and manage financial records

• Strong attention to detail and ability to spot numerical errors

• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles

• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel

• Excellent data entry skills along with a knack for numbers

• High degree of accuracy and ability to multitask

• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

• Strong organizational and planning skills

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
