    The Pricing & Underwriting Modernization Enablement Auto team is seeking a Business Applications Analyst Senior to join the team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to utilize the Earnix tool for development of the future state rating and UW engine for new and existing products.

    You will provide complex analytical, business, and technical support related to strategic business functions, process, and applications/IT platforms. You will lead and participates in efforts supporting business analysis and decision-making processes including creating, implementing, and maintaining application solutions to meet the needs of a business or organization. You will propose changes to business processes to better align to business need.

    We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA, Colorado Springs, CO, Phoenix, AZ, Plano, TX, San Antonio, TX, or Tampa, FL.

    Relocation assistance is NOT available for this position.

    What you'll do:

    • Advise and provide analytical support and recommendations to stakeholders making decisions related to business and application/IT platform direction and modifications, taking into account current and future business needs and opportunities.

    • Maintain an advanced understanding of business processes, applications/IT platform and strategic direction and advises customers on and facilitates the identification, research, and analysis of application/IT platform and technology solutions.

    • Collaborate and exchange information with team members, stakeholders, and information services to ensure dependencies, risks, and opportunities are identified and addressed.

    • Research complex business issues requiring advanced knowledge of business principles and theories.

    • Be responsible for analyzing and participate in documenting business requirements for application/IT platform and data systems and directing the testing and implementation of new systems or changes to current system as required to meet contractual needs and improve processes.

    • Lead and participate in the design and administration of standards and policies regarding application/IT platform and end user customer documentation.

    • Provide input and participate in establishing system documentation standards and quality assurance methodologies for systems and applications/IT platform.

    • Provide work direction and coaching to team members and may provide input on performance and development plans.

    • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

    What you have

    • Bachelor's degree: OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

    • 6 years of work experience in analyzing IT business processes, software application/IT platform design and/or IT documentation, with an understanding of application/IT platform data systems and operations processes.

    • Demonstrated understanding of application/IT platform administration and the software development life cycle, to include testing execution.

    • Experience in developing and maintaining documentation related to workflow and business requirements, as well as technical functionality of IT applications/IT platform.

    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.

    • Knowledge of risk & controls with experience identifying and fixing gaps, documenting controls, and testing of those controls.

    • Successful completion of an analyst assessment may be required.

    What sets you apart

    • Experience with Earnix strongly preferred.

    • P&C Auto Insurance experience - Rate Management, Pricing and/or UW experience.

    • Ability to lead the design, decomposition, and delivery of work needed by a team to achieve project goals.

    • Skilled in understanding business needs, turning business requirements into code, executing robust testing, performing demos, and participating in broader testing activities on operational systems.

    • Experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) principles, managing your work in Jira (or similar project management tool) and actively participating in Agile ceremonies/routines.

    • In lieu of Earnix experience, expert-level programming skills (Python, R, VBA).

    • Ability to find efficiencies, identify automation opportunities, and implement them as part of your daily duties.

    • Strong knowledge of data curation principles.

    • Excellent problem-solving skills and communication with multiple disciplines and partners.

    • Thrives in changing environments, learning new technology and programming methods.

    • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.

    What we offer

    Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $89,990 - $172,000.

    Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
