    The Business Data Analyst will spearhead requirement gathering, analyzing, and translating business partner requirements into detailed documentation leading to data driven solutions for these requirements. The analyst would become a subject matter expert for key enterprise systems and be a go to person within Baystate's Center for Analytics.

    Business Data Analyst duties include collaborating with end-users to collect information to develop and support processes, systems and reporting which will drive productivity and efficiency.

    In this role you will work closely with stakeholders at all levels within the business and IT to turn data into critical information and knowledge that can be used to make sound business decisions. Business Data Analyst would be responsible for efficient communication of business user requirements to the data engineers and Visual Analytic developers and ensuring the designed solution meets business and user needs. The ideal candidate is expected to be a highly motivated, good communicator, collaborator, and facilitator, possessing a high level of business acumen.

    The capacity to grow towards shaping the future vision of Data Analytics at Baystate or previous transformation experience is desirable. Experience with different software delivery methods especially Agile Scrum and Waterfall, knowledge of analytics solutions, and healthcare or business value perspectives are all beneficial.

    Job Requirements

    1) Lead discussions and requirements gathering sessions with business and technology partners to elicit, define, and understand detailed requirements, priorities, impacts, objectives, and other insights.

    2) Function as consultative team member with peers, business partners and vendors in planning, organizing, preparing and executing initiatives.

    3) Translate Business Functional requirements into Data Requirements partnering with data modeling team to build supporting data models.

    4) Participate in peer reviews of analyst work completed by team members.

    5) Provide strategic direction and lead modeling solution release process and provide support on a need basis

    6) Perform in user acceptance testing and functional testing of newly developed Analytical solutions.

    7) Obtain and provide subject matter expertise knowledge of technology and business functionality.

    8) Provide strategic direction and engage directly with the ETL team and any other project teams in terms of understanding the model and its relationships; ensure constant alignment and synchronization between Logical and Physical models.

    9) Solve complex problems considering business and system requirements.

    10) Instructing, direct, and/or guide other analysts or team members as needed.

    11) Build a detailed understanding of the business to identify needs and address critical business issues.

    12) Perform high-level analysis to support application of data standards across the enterprise.

    13) Generate, maintain, and communicate any documentation pertaining to the logical modeling process, including data format, specifications, and model release details.

    14) Play an integral role in enterprise data governance program and provide data that is accurate, thorough and detail oriented.

    15) Analyze business processes and functional requirements and participate in the development of business cases in the support of process changes or projects.

    Minimally Required Experience

    10+ years of Data / Application / Architecture related work experience.

    Skills/Competencies:

    • High degree and demonstrated experience as a strong collaborator in enterprise organizations.

    • Demonstrated success in large scale, dynamic consulting projects in a leadership or an individual contributor role.

    • Strong analytical skills, thorough, detailed oriented.

    • Ability to quickly acquire knowledge related to business operations and product specifications.

    • Proficiency with requirements gathering and analysis techniques.

    • Knowledge in Logical and Physical Modelling, data security and administration; Certifications are a plus.

    • Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to interface with business as well as technical leaders, history of being a consensus builder who works toward solution.

    • Understanding of data architecture patterns and relevance to reporting and visualizations.

    • Experience in all phases of product, software, and testing lifecycles.

    • Knowledge in software delivery: Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, and Lean.

    • Ability to serve as a liaison between both business and technical teams to drive effective, timely solutions that fulfill both strategic and operational needs.

    • Experience working in a dynamic, agile, or continuous improvement environment.

    • Expert knowledge on various data modelling techniques.

    • Ability to understand, document, maintain and refactor complex, highly normalized, existing relational and star schema data warehousing models.

    • Ability to work independently and as a part of a highly collaborative team.
