CNC Machinist

Description:

This position is for a CNC Machinist that plans and performs a variety of machine operations utilizing numerical control machining centers to cut, shape, or form metal work pieces to specifications. This position could have fit into a variety of their different cells and product lines, they are looking for someone to run their CNC Mill cell, this is a 4 axis machine, will be a job shop style of facility. They work with mainly stainless steel and tight tolerances. Most of their product lines require boring, drilling, key slotting and topping. They have Okumas, Mori Seiki, Puma and Haas Machines.

Essential Responsibilities

• Interprets complicated drawings, program sheets, instructions, and process sheets to determine work to be done

• Performs a variety of milling, drilling, boring, or related operations to close and interrelated tolerances

• Reviews setup sheet and specifications to determine machining sequence and dimensions of finished work piece

• Attaches fixture to machine bed and positions and secures work piece in fixture according to setup instructions

• Selects and installs cutting tools in machine spindle or magazine

• Loads programs in machine control console or enters commands to retrieve preprogrammed machine instructions from database, programs will tell them all their settings including speeds and feeds

Job Requirements

Ideal - 5+ years of experience as a CNC Machinist, mill would be preferred

Open to - 2+ years of experience as a CNC Operator

Ability to perform full set ups (3 set ups per shift)

Ability to read and interpret blueprints

Mechanical skills with hand and power tools, micrometers, calipers and other measurement devices
