    Job Description

    The Americas Commercial Director will lead this functional group across the Americas, with a specific focus on recruiting, hiring, training, and placing Commercial Managers on our largest, most complex projects. The Commercial Director will report directly to the Project Delivery and Controls (PD&C) leader for the Americas.

    Job Responsibilities

    The Commercial Director is responsible for the hiring, training and development of commercial managers and placing them on the appropriate projects or programs. The Commercial Director should be a subject matter expert within the commercial management group and act as a resource to the Commercial Managers on projects and the business as a whole. They will be responsible for developing and delivering training on commercial matters.

    General:

    • Participate in strategic pursuits to provide input regarding commercial and strategic objectives.

    • Will collaborate globally with other Commercial Directors and Managers as well as Project Management, Project Controls, Supply Chain, Risk and other related groups.

    • Highlights areas of concern to the project management team and assists in developing corrective actions and strategies.

    • May act as a facilitator or resource for solving project commercial issues. While ensuring that the organization achieves its financial and strategic objectives while still maintaining strong client relationships.

    • Develop and present monthly commercial status updates to the PD&C leader and any executive oversight committees (region/BL leadership, risk review committes, etc).

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements

    • BA/BS in engineering, construction management, architecture, business plus 12 years of experience with large and complex program or project management with specific experience in as many of the following areas as possible, is preferred: design/engineering management, alternative delivery (Design-Build, P3, CMGC, CMAR, etc.), procurement, contracts management, claims management, project controls, and team leadership or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4 years of leadership

    • Working knowledge of engineering/construction industry contracting practices in the countries in which the commercial managers will work in, as well as applicable government and commercial regulations and practices, policies, procedures, and work practices is preferred.

    • Experience leading, coaching, and mentoring small to medium-sized teams.

    • Expertise in negotiation techniques and employ those as required.

    • Working knowledge of contracts, claims management, project controls, earned value, schedule management, project management, and project/change order estimating on medium to large complex projects.

    • Working knowledge of project cost accounting.

    • Experience in contract development, claims preparation, administration and negotiation of change orders, effective correspondence, planning, and scheduling.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 15 years of experience with large and complex program or project management, with specific experience in as many of the following areas as possible, is preferred: design/engineering management, alternative delivery (Design-Build, P3, CMGC, CMAR, etc.), procurement, contracts management, claims management, project controls, and team leadership.

    • A Law degree or Master's degree is a plus.

    • Ability to communicate concisely to company leadership.

    • Self-starter; strong communication and people skills.

    • Must be committed to quality and improvement and promoting AECOM's values.

    • Ability to teach, lead, and mentor others.

    Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $141,243.00 - $261,300.39.
