    Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New York provides programs and services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and dual diagnoses. Located in Kingston, NY, this position is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and implementing recreational activities and/or special events for the Community programs as appropriate. In conjunction with the Program Managers and/or their designees, the Community Outreach Coordinator will ensure that staffing is appropriate and adequate for the needs of the individuals involved in any given event/activity. They will maintain a dialogue with the self-advocacy group and will work with them to ensure that we assist them in establishing activities/events of their expressed interest. The Community Outreach Coordinator will also ensure that supervisors are provided feedback on event staff's performance and will handle reconciliations/request forms as appropriate.

    Salary: (commensurate with education and experience)

    With HS Diploma/GED: $18.00 - $19.62 per hour

    With BA/BS: $19.00 - $20.71 per hour

    With MA/MS or higher: $20.00 - $21.80 per hour

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION : High School Diploma required. Associates Degree preferred.

    EXPERIENCE : Two years' experience in similar setting. Recreation experience preferred.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants or other chemical or controlled substances. Significant prolonged, and frequent walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, and lifting of 50 lbs. or more. Using standard crisis intervention procedures, must be able to single-handedly effect the initial restraint of children and adolescents weighing 70 lbs. Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens.

    Devereux requires all individuals interviewing for a position involving contact with children to complete The Diana Screen, a screening that assesses a candidate's understanding of appropriate boundaries between adults and children.

    The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) COVID-19 vaccine mandate requires staff without an approved medical or religious exemption to be fully vaccinated to be employed in this program.
