    Position Summary

    The Controller is responsible for overseeing and leading the finance function for our operations in South San Francisco, CA while being a key business partner to the Site GM. The position frequently communicates with Division (CEO, CFO) and Site Leadership regarding site operational and financial matters. The individual will provide leadership to the local Finance function with overall responsibility for management team and will report to the Finance Director in our Greendale, IN facility. Directs South San Francisco financial functions: accounts receivable; accounts payable; cost accounting; financial reporting, analysis & control; forecast; cash management. Provides guidance and support to all operating departments in performance reporting and analysis, accounting and financial control, communication and operational management solutions

    Essential Duties

    • Provide direction, supervision and leadership necessary to ensure basic departmental accounting services are provided on an accurate and timely basis

    • Develop and implement accounting procedures and internal controls designed to assure the accuracy of accounting records and enforce proper review and approval of departmental expenses

    • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance with federal, state and local registration and reporting requirements

    • Maintain an adequate record of all contracts, agreements and leases

    • Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

    • Produce business walkdown forecast and financial review reports for monthly management review

    • Conduct monthly internal audit of all balance sheet accounts and significant P&L accounts for effective control of expenses and adequate protection of corporate assets

    • Compile full supporting documentation for: annual review/audit of fiscal year-end financials by external auditors and corporate tax return support

    • Develop fully loaded costings of new products for realistic pricing by Sales & Marketing departments

    • Maintain and manage fully loaded costings of existing products and identify cost trends and changes for review with management

    • Assist HR with all payroll functions to ensure that employees are paid in a timely and accurate manner

    • Process and submit timely remittances of statutory and voluntary payroll deductions for unionized employees

    • Maintain guidelines for forecast preparation, both on a weekly and monthly basis

    • Analyze and interpret operating results against past performance and forecast. Explain variances from forecast and recommend corrective action plans to maximize profitability and control

    • Manage daily cash flow and minimize the company's investment in customer accounts receivable by keeping the aging clear of customer chargebacks and accounts past due

    Position Requirements

    • Education Required: Bachelors in Accounting

    • Experience Required: Minimum four years of progressive Finance experience, including two-three years of finance leadership experience with a medium to large organization, Recent financial management experience as a controller or FP&A type of role;

    Salary range $65/hr W2. The specific compensation for this role will be determined based on the education, experience, location and skill set of the individual selected for this position.
