    Insight Global is looking for a CRE Credit Underwriter III to join the commercial real estate team at one of our leading international banking clients. This is a full-time, permanent position located hybrid on-site 3 days a week in Chelsea, NYC. This individual will work closely with the origination team and perform credit risk management in reviewing and analyzing financial statement reports, assessing credit risk, preparing deal screen presentations, writing credit approval memorandums, presenting recommendations to the credit committee, and monitoring and managing the credit portfolio while evaluating all risks associated with complicated CRE credit transactions.

    The CRE Credit Underwriter III will be expected to handle a high volume of deals simultaneously. This role requires a self-starter capable of independently completing work in a thoughtful and thorough manner, while contributing to the team of 4 other underwriters. The organization this candidate would be joining has high exposure to upper management and is looking for someone who has the desire to take on a leadership role long-term on the team.

    Responsibilities

    1. Prepare comprehensive credit memorandums that provide in-depth analysis of new credit requests and analyze risks and mitigants of loan structures

    2. Work with the origination team and credit as risks are uncovered during the underwriting/closing process

    3. Assist in the presentation of transactions to the credit committee in support of approval

    4. Maintain good working knowledge of the Bank's lending policies/ procedures and identify exceptions to credit policy

    5. Recommend appropriate risk ratings in accordance with credit policy guidelines

    6. Attend meetings and/or conference calls on transactions, lead due diligence discussions and guide the deal though the approval process

    7. Assist in annual credit reviews as needed

    Skills and Requirements

    Requirements

    - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

    - Formal credit training

    - 2+ years of underwriting experience within a Commercial Bank or other real estate credit lender

    - Experience working on $5-40 million loans

    - Strong proficiency of related financial analysis (ex: financial modeling and understanding of financial data for CRE loan transactions)

    - Adjusts quickly to various work situations, works well under pressure, and is willing to step up to help the team as needed

    - Ability to work on multiple long-term transactions simultaneously, while prioritizing accordingly to meet deadlines

    - Strong verbal, written, inter-personal, and public presentation skills, detail-oriented

    • Must be familiar with rent stabilization programs in NYC Construction Loan Experience null
