    The expected annual salary range for this role is $75037.5 - $110055.0 a year.

    What you'll do:

    PRIMARY FUNCTION:

    Eaton's Design Engineer ( ITD - Interconnect Aerospace products ) will be responsible for assisting Senior Engineers and Lead Engineers with the specific engineering tasks required in the design and/or stewardship of electrical connectors, non-explosive actuators, and mechanical sub-systems and components for military and space applications. Expected to support generation of and modification of drawing packages and models for these products, and support or lead activities for engineering deliverables on programs of varying levels of complexity.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Participates and assists more senior engineers in conceptual layout and detail design of various military connectors and mechanical sub-systems and components.

    • Applies basic knowledge of drafting practices to support the modification and creation of product drawings.

    • Participates and assists senior engineers and lead engineers with preparation of design review packages (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR, FDR, etc.) for internal review with Chief Engineers and Eaton leadership, and for review with platform owner/customer.

    • Learns and applies proper configuration control and life-cycle management of technical data, leveraging Eaton's product-lifecycle management tools.

    • Supports material review board activities in one or more production facilities, developing assessment of functionality for discrepant material.

    • Supports production including manufacturing engineering in cost out projects and other plant initiatives.

    • Supports or leads root cause investigations and corrective actions, including with external vendors and customers.

    • Participates and assists peer and senior engineers, the engineering test lab and production assembly personnel to verify and validate design configurations to their requirements, including through design assurance, development, and qualification test programs.

    • This is an Entry Level Design Engineer role. Recent Engineering Graduates requiring no sponsorship or relocation assistance will be considered for this role.

    Qualifications:

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree (BS) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Material Science Engineering degree from an accredited institution.

    • 0-3 years of work experience in Engineering Product Development.

    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future.

    • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

    • Candidate must currently reside within 50 miles of either Camarillo, CA ... or ... City of Industry, CA. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 1+ year's work experience in engineered product development inclusive of any college internship engineering experience.

    • Experience working in aerospace or aviation product development.

    • Experience with CAD modeling and drafting using Solid Works.

    • Experience using the ENOVIA product lifecycle management software.

    • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.

    • Proficient using CAD software and MS Office tools.
