Digital Producer, Growth & Engagement

The Digital Producer for Growth & Engagement is a skilled video content creator and writer who uses editorial judgment to make real-time decisions! They can respond quickly to breaking news, identify top newsmaking moments and build explainer-style video content for ~~~ and YouTube. They should be comfortable making quick turn-around videos during breaking news events and will pitch creative video/story ideas to the director of Growth & Engagement, using data to guide their content decisions. They should have a strong understanding of SEO, using keyword research tools and crafting clickable headlines.

The schedule for this role is Tuesday through Saturday from 4p-12a ET. Its a hybrid role based out of New York or Los Angeles. You will need to shift your schedule as news breaks.

Day-to-day responsibilities

• Edit and publish original long-form video content including CBS News talent, using voiceovers, adding text on screen and more

• Edit and publish original short-form, vertical videos that highlight the top news of the day or capture top moments from CBS News programs

• Identify CBS News broadcast or stream segments to repackage for our YouTube audiences

• Identify CBS News archives to resurface, working closely with executive producers, rights & clearances, legal and standards teams to ensure content is cleared for publication

• Clip live news coverage, special reports and more from CBS News Streaming in real-time

• Run daily live streams, curate and optimize CBS News YouTube channels

• Write your own original SEO-friendly, accurate headlines and descriptions to accompany all videos published across ~~~ and YouTube

• Write clear, concise, and error-free app, web, Apple News and OTT push alerts that could go out optimally to a wide audience without revisions

• Write ~~~ articles across a wide array of topics

• Contribute to G&E reports that are distributed across various verticals and platforms, identifying traffic patterns and sharing suggestions on how to grow traffic

Qualifications

• You have 3+ years of experience in a digital breaking news environment and proven ability to react quickly as news develops

• Familiarity with editing software (Adobe Premiere, PhotoShop, Wochit, etc.)

• Youre a strong writer and self-editor who can move quickly and with precision

• You're familiar with analytics platforms like Adobe, Chartbeat, YouTube Studio, etc.

• You know how to craft a compelling headline and description following SEO standard processes

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Hiring Salary Range: $80,000.00 - 85,000.00.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, tuition assistance program and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
