    The Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation (JCCF) is the lead fundraising unit for the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, which encompasses the Cancer Theme of the David Geffen School of Medicine. The Director of Development, Cancer possesses advanced experience and is independently responsible for key aspects of the JCCF operations, including identification, stewardship and solicitation of predominantly Major Gifts ($25,000) for unrestricted and restricted support. You will collaborate with JCCF and UCLA Health Sciences Development staff and independently interact with other colleagues, donors, attorneys, financial advisors and JCCF Board members.

    Salary Range: $85,500-$172,500 per year

    Qualifications

    We're seeking a highly-skilled, self-motivated professional with:

    Required

    • Experience with major gift cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship

    • Strong English language writing skills to produce original fundraising materials, correspondence, reports and other documents using correct grammar, syntax and punctuation.

    • Demonstrated attention to detail and proofreading skills.

    • Bachelor's Degree

    • Demonstrated skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relations with intra and extramural offices, volunteer groups, vendors, and other related organizations.

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality in a donor environment.

    • Flexible and willing to perform other tasks as assigned.

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality in a donor environment.

    • Supervisory experience

    • 3-5 years experience in professional fund-raising.

    • Skill in making verbal one-on-one as well as group presentations on fund-raising progress.

    • Experience working in non-profit organizations.

    Strongly Preferred

    • Understanding of fundraising principles and practices

    • Self-starter able to take initiative and work independently, but also integrate as an effective member of the fundraising team.

    • Collaborative style and flexibility, ability to adapt to changing priorities, and multi-task to meet deadlines

    • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience using fundraising and/or CRM databases.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience using Raiser's Edge fundraising software.
