In this position you will be responsible for the execution and oversight of several quality elements/processes and systems as it applies to New Product Introduction (NPI) and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)..

    Job Summary

    This position will be a partially remote position for an Early Supplier Readiness Quality Engineer (APQP). In this position you will take direction from the assigned manager from the SQE Organization. The Early Supplier Readiness Quality Engineer will be responsible for weekly and Monthly reviews with the ESR team on progress in areas of work that has been assigned. The ESR Quality Engineer will support the customers' New Product Introduction (NPI) and Advanced Quality Product Planning (APQP) systems and process requirements and perform Data management to support the NPI and APQP meet the APQP program's needs.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • NPI and APQP interface and onsite support as needed.

    • Drawing Review and APQP level identification for NPI parts

    • Will be Compass system request administrator for new supplier requests for system access.

    • Wiil review per customer requirements and quality substantiation for New Supplier requests.

    • Identify automation opportunities for both quality and non-quality requests in Compass.

    • Site Transition Team interface for Supplier transitions and repositions as it applies to NPI/APQP.

    • Will perform Data reporting for the Early Supplier Readiness team.

    • Will generate the data that is required for weekly and monthly ESR reviews.

    Basic Qualifications (Required Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

    • US citizenship required due to client contracts.

    • Must have a strong background in New Product Introduction (NPI) for Aerospace AS9100.

    • Must have a strong background/expert in APQP as it applies to Aerospace AS9100.

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience with 5 years of experience in manufacturing/assembly operations, quality engineering (design or manufacturing), and materials/procurement; preferably in aerospace electronics; these areas may be replaced by related military experience.

    • Engineering background including mechanical and electrical technology drawings.

    • Must have a strong background and knowledge of APQP and its applications.

    • Must have a strong Data management background.

    • Must possess working knowledge and understanding of GD&T requirements.

    • Must possess general experience in Continuous Improvement, LEAN Enterprise, RCCA and inspection methodologies.

    • 3 years of experience working with suppliers preferred.

    • Certified Green Belt or equivalent; Lean Expert or Black Belt preferred.

    • Experience with Automotive or Aerospace products preferred.

    • Additional experience or training in RCCA, Process Mapping, FMEAs and Control Plans preferred.

    • Experience using Six Sigma Plus tools preferred.

    Preferred Qualifications (Preferred Education, Experience, Skills, and Certifications)

    • Experience with QA systems such as AS9100, ISO, Conducting Audits, and Corrective Actions.

    • Experience with use of NetInspect.

    • Experience using SAP in a Manufacturing environment.

    • Ability to interact with all levels of supplier management.

    • Proven track record with supplier oversight

    • Experience in leading teams focused on problem solving and improvements.

    • Good communication skills with the ability to provide a clear vision of the strategy and processes for key stakeholders.

    • High level of analytical ability to identify and evaluate appropriate courses of action for definition and resolution of complex problems.
