    Electric Power Distribution Engineer III

    Our Electric Distribution group seeks an Electric Power Distribution Engineer to support reliability, operations, and future planning on our 12.5kv and 34.5kv electric power distribution systems. In this role, you will support the daily requests and troubleshooting of power quality and reliability operations and evaluate asset management strategies to help make system improvements and prolong our equipment lifespan. You'll get to work on new and innovative projects alongside a team of experienced Electrical Engineers to help bring data acquisition and control to our distribution system. You'll help evaluate, analyze, coordinate, and implement short- and long-term planning solutions for reliability, capacity expansion, Smart Grid, and renewable applications.

    How Will You Make an Impact?

    • Participate in a Standby Engineer role; rotation approximately one week per month to help support large customer queries, Operational issues, and perform investigations for electrical contacts

    • Provide operational support for power quality, reliability, voltage concerns, contingency or loading issues across the system, and Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) concerns from customers

    • Gather and analyze system data including age and reliability performance data to support preventative and corrective maintenance programs

    • Propose system improvements and reliability project recommendations

    • Perform circuit analysis reviews for loading, phase balancing, voltages, reactive power, protection coordination, and contingency planning using Synergi® Electric modeling software.

    • Help coordinate line protection devices including reclosers, line fuses, and interrupter switches, as well as developing logic for and analyzing data from various electronic devices, including power quality meters, RFI locating devices, and controllers for automated transfer schemes

    • Work on continuous improvement opportunities around electric distribution asset management, business processes, and procedure recommendations

    Who You Are:

    • A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university; with an emphasis on Electric Power Systems is highly valued

    • Relevant and progressively responsible experience in distribution system planning, operations engineering, system protection, power systems design standards, or a related area is highly valued

    • An Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license is valued

    • Skills of value include communication, collaboration, technical writing, and project management
