    The Facility Security Officer for the planned research center for GE Vernova will be responsible for the administration of the government security program in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operation Manual, and Intelligence Community Directives. The incumbent will serve as the technical expert in the associated regulatory requirements of government classified programs developing business policy, procedures and training in the administration of the security program requirements at the research center.

    Job Description

    This role will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives, integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

    In this role, you will:

    • Participate, develop and or lead organization security initiatives as directed by the Global Research Security Director and or the Senior Management Official.

    • Perform within a team of researchers, business leaders and cross functional operations to develop and execute a cohesive and regulatory compliant government classified program.

    • Manage all aspects of the National Industrial Security Program for a cleared defense contractor facility ensuring compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operations Manual and other government/customer relations

    • Management and oversight of all classified information accountability for Global Research

    • Provide guidance to employees in security matters relating to compliance with Global Research, government and customer requirements for the protection of classified information and assets

    • Maintain liaison with government and customer security organizations to plan and coordinate security requirements for classified programs

    • Manage the regulatory design, construction, system installation and security administration of all classified programs as the Facility Security Officer

    • Partner with the Digital Technology Security Team to ensure classified programs information technology regulatory compliance obligations are being met by the Information System Security Manager

    • Perform as the site Communications Security (COMSEC) custodian managing a Communications Security (COMSEC) account to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory guidance

    • Work with the GRC Business Development Team, Sr Leadership and Researchers engaging in all proposals and contracts that require a classified environment and provide necessary business information for bids, proposals and implementation at time of award

    • Provide regulatory security education and awareness programs

    • Develop crisis management and business continuity plans for classified programs

    • Develop, implement and track detailed metrics in regulatory compliance

    • Internal investigation and reporting of all potential violations of Global Research Security and U.S. Government security policies associated with government classified programs and appropriate regulatory reporting of such incidents.

    • Collaborate with other GE businesses, defense industry colleagues, and security associations to share best practices

    Position Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University

    • Minimum of 5 or more years' experience as an FSO or DCSA Industrial Security Representative

    • Working knowledge of NISPOM, UL-2050 and COMSEC requirements

    • FSO certification through DCSA, COMSEC Custodian training certificate and experience required

    • Thorough understanding of security databases such as DIAS, DISS, SWFT, eQIP, NCAISS/NISS.

    • Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to have a current or active Secret Clearance with an ability to obtain a Top-Secret Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship

    Desired Characteristics

    • In depth knowledge of the NISPOM, UL-2050, COMSEC and other program mandated government security regulations

    • Compliance focus - ability to enforce industrial security requirements in all situations as well as refine processes based on changes in regulatory guidance and lessons learned

    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate or government security roles

    • Strong business analysis, problem solving, and strategy development skills

    • Familiarity with RMF, eMASS and SIMS applications

    • Experience developing and implementing OPSEC plans

    • Knowledge of Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems

    • Experience with Closed Area construction requirements

    • Demonstrated interpersonal, leadership and communication skills in a cross functional team environment

    • Strong analytical skills. Effectively manages risk and uncertainty for self and team with ability to plan and provide solutions in a fast paced, changing environment

    The salary range for this position is $96,900-$161,500 USD annually. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location.
