  • The Brattle Group, a privately held, global economics consulting firm, is looking for a Financial Analyst to join our Chicago, IL, Boston, MA, or Washington, DC office. The Financial Analyst is accountable for providing analytical support to the various management groups and Corporate Services (CS) departments. This position will work directly with the Sr. Director of Financial Planning &Analysis (FP&A) and other senior FP&A members to support the firm's financial reporting, modeling and analytical needs, including compensation support & modeling. The Financial Analyst regularly handles materials of confidential nature, will often support time sensitive projects, and will require a significant level of quality assurance in all work products.

    Some of the day-to-day responsibilities of this role include:

    • Prepare monthly managerial statements and key performance indicators

    • Work with Finance Business Partner to support management group specific KPIs, including revenue, utilization, practice level trends

    • Administer the Find, Sell and Manage (FSM) database, used for Principal compensation, and ensure accuracy in the data and allocations

    • Review projects with budget caps monthly to identify overruns and reserves needed

    • Calculate the monthly percent complete of fixed fee projects for revenue recognition

    • Maintain various analytical models and regularly update inputs

    • Support the Human Resources Team with annual compensation calculations

    • Maintain monthly bonus accrual schedules

    • Support the preparation of the annual financial plan

    • Regular review of Principal compensation outcomes and report on potential issues

    • Provide ad hoc reporting and analytical support to various teams as directed by the Senior Director of FP&A

    • Provide ad hoc compensation analysis to firm management as needed

    THE CANDIDATE

    • Bachelor's Degree with concentration in finance, accounting or business related field

    • Minimum of 3 years professional related experience preferred; experience in a professional services work environment is a plus

    • Strong MS Excel skills, fundamental SQL knowledge, experience with Visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)

    • Positive customer service focused attitude

    • Excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and time management skills

    • Strong attention to detail

    • Eager to learn new skills and contribute on a diverse set of projects

    • Ability to build rapport with teams and internal clients

    • Ability to work overtime when required

    • Occasional travel may be required
