    This role offers a hybrid work schedule; offering the flexibility to work remotely two days a week, while providing the opportunity for in-person collaboration.

    This role involves developing and refining data models for various business processes using Alteryx and automating data workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention. The Head of Automation & Analytics conducts regular meetings with the analyst community to share insights and analytics best practices, designs and leads training sessions focused on Alteryx and other analytics tools and evaluates and provides feedback on data products to drive continuous improvement.

    As the Alteryx Product Owner, they will be the go-to expert for Alteryx analytics within the organization, responsible for maximizing the value of the product and working as part of the Data Tooling & BI Team. The role involves strategic oversight, product management, and cross-functional collaboration to drive the adoption and effective use of Alteryx.

    Manages and participates in drafting enterprise data management policies and standards including metadata, data classification, data retention, and access controls. Manages the monitoring of adherence to enterprise data policies and standards and manages and participates in supporting Data Stewards on data quality and issue management. Manages work with data product and platform teams on data retention. Manages classification of data in coordination with data stakeholders. Responsible for the direct leadership of assigned team.

    Responsibilities

    • Strategic Product Leadership: Develop and maintain the vision and roadmap for the use of Alteryx, ensuring it supports and enhances the organization's data analytics capabilities.

    • Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the main point of contact between technical teams, business units, and data analysts. Gather, interpret, and prioritize requirements to ensure Alteryx solutions align with business needs.

    • Best Practices Development: Establish and advocate best practices for data processing, workflow automation, and analytics in Alteryx. Ensure consistency and efficiency across various departments.

    • Training and Empowerment: Lead comprehensive training programs to enhance user proficiency in Alteryx, fostering a culture of self-service analytics and continuous skill development.

    • Vendor Relations and Product Updates: Manage vendor relationships, staying abreast of new Alteryx features and updates, and integrating these into the organization's analytics strategy.

    • Data Governance and Compliance: Oversee the use of Alteryx in compliance with data governance frameworks and privacy regulations, ensuring secure and responsible handling of data.

    • Performance and Impact Analysis: Regularly assess the effectiveness and efficiency of Alteryx implementations, gathering user feedback and making strategic adjustments to maximize ROI.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 11 years higher education and/ or work experience, including a minimum of 7 years related experience

    • Minimum of 1 year managerial, supervisory and/or work leadership experience

    • Experience in at least one programing language or analytical/statistical tools

    • Experience in analyzing data and draw valid conclusions

    • Expert knowledge of data management concepts, terminology, roles, and responsibilities, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection

    • Experience completing data research using industry standard research methods

    • Experience leading the development and/or implementation of data management and/or data governance policy and standards

    Ideal Qualifications

    • 15+ years in data analytics and automation.

    • Proven expertise in Alteryx for data analytics, including workflow design, data blending, and advanced analytics.

    • Strong background in data science, business intelligence, and process automation.

    • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

    • Deep understanding of data governance, privacy, and compliance issues related to analytics.

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.

    • Alteryx certification and experience in a similar product ownership role are highly desirable.

    • Experience navigating and retrieving data from databases directly and/or through Application Programming Interface (API)

    • Experience with data management and query languages in big data environment or cloud environment

    • Expert knowledge of the data life cycle

    • Experience in financial industry

    • Knowledge of data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues

    • Experience with change management concepts and strategies, including communication, culture change and performance measurement system design

    As the Alteryx Product Owner, the individual will be responsible for driving the adoption and sophisticated use of Alteryx, contribute to the data tooling acquisition pilots and drive the federated Center of Excellence model.

    Federated CoE for Alteryx

    Governance and Leadership: The Alteryx Federated CoE involves a governance structure that includes key stakeholders from various departments that leverage data analytics and process automation. The central leadership team, while defining the overarching strategy for Alteryx use, also ensures the alignment of department-specific analytics initiatives with corporate objectives.

    Operational Model

    • Standards Development: Establishing best practices for designing Alteryx workflows, ensuring consistency in data processing, and automation techniques across the enterprise.

    • Cross-Functional Teams: Forming teams with experts in data, business processes, and Alteryx capabilities to work on joint projects and address both local and enterprise-wide analytics challenges.

    • Community of Practice: Creating forums and knowledge bases for Alteryx users to exchange ideas, share solutions, and enhance their skills through collaborative learning.

    Day-to-Day Operations:

    • Project Oversight: Managing a portfolio of Alteryx-based analytics projects, providing expertise in workflow optimization, and ensuring adherence to best practices.

    • Training and Enablement: Conducting regular training sessions and certifications to empower business units with self-service analytics capabilities using Alteryx.

    • Support and Consulting: Offering expert advice and support to departments for complex data blending, preparation, and analytical tasks using Alteryx.

    M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $127,274.43 - $212,124.05 Annual (USD). The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
