    This position will provide overall project management direction from inception to completion of projects and will be the primary project contact for other public agencies and the general public regarding project activities; they will provide overall direction and leadership to technical project teams in the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques in the management of project activities for moderate to major scale projects to meet the project requirements; they will ensure consistency with MnDOT strategy, commitments and goals; and to ensure proper program execution and compliance with MnDOT, state and federal procedures, practices, regulations, and standards.

    NOTE: This is a temporary unclassified position, expected to last up to three years.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Two years of supervisory experience OR three years of advanced professional project management experience that demonstrates the following:

    • Experience managing highway projects of moderate to major size using a variety of methods and techniques to plan and measure project activities, timeframes, and outcomes.

    • Experience managing the scope, schedule, budget and engineering consultants for moderate to major highway projects.

    • Experience with all phases of program delivery including scoping, design, and construction.

    • Experience with public engagement for moderate to major sized highway projects.

    • Experience working with City and County governments on highway projects.

    • Technical knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices sufficient to refine and clarify project team strategic goals and objectives.
