  • Job Summary

    The Information Security Analyst is responsible for engineering and administration of IT Security systems as well as monitoring system and network logs to identify threats, misconfigurations and anomalies and assist with any necessary remediation. The candidate is responsible for working with the business and across all IT functions to help protect company data and reduce overall risk exposure.

    Performs a range of straightforward assignments. Acts as a resource for team members with less experience. Established knowledge of fundamental theories, principles and practices in the area of specialization. Exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to solve problems of moderate complexity; seeks assistance in resolving more complex issues. Works under a moderate level of supervision.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Support operational implementation requirements ensuring compliance with information security policy, standards, and guidelines.

    • Report any threats, misconfigurations, or anomalies and assist with remediation in some cases.

    • Utilizes new technologies and processes to enhance security capabilities and implement improvements.

    • Develop automated processes to improve efficiency and detection using existing and open-source tools.

    • Ensure timely reporting and remediation of discovered security issues.

    • Work with others to help remediate security incidents.

    • Conduct frequent testing of simulated cyber-attacks to identify vulnerabilities and subsequently remediate vulnerabilities.

    • Keep up with evolving risks, new developments in the security industry, and industry best practices.

    Required Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED

    • 5+ years in an Information Security role or a similar IT role

    • Understanding of security threats and incident response.

    • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, and ability to work with others

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field preferred.

    • Related certifications are a plus

    Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

    • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.

    • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

    • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
