    THE ROLE : The Manager-Technical Accounting Provide U.S. GAAP accounting guidance for Xylem globally, as well as review of accounting for revenue recognition, various management estimates and other complex areas. Responsible for global oversight of Xylem's defined benefit and contribution plans including coordination with third party actuaries. This role will also be responsible for execution of internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.     CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

    • Build relationships with global finance teams, serve as technical accounting liaison and provide ad hoc guidance on complex US GAAP matters

    • Monitor and analyze new accounting standards for impact to Xylem, including development and implementation of new policies and procedures as well as updating existing policies

    • Drive standardization and optimization of processes across Xylem through critical assessment to implement best practices

    • Review and advise the global finance team on technical accounting matters, including equity method investments, software capitalization and ASC 606 revenue recognition

    • Responsible for global accounting oversight of Xylem's defined benefit and contribution plans

    • Coordination with third party actuaries and internal contacts for annual pension plan valuation process

    • Ownership over preparation of plan financial statements and external audit management for defined benefit and contribution plans, ultimately filing with regulatory authorities, including 11-K

    • Direct and assist with accounting process for monthly benefits activities, including account reconciliation and consolidated reporting

    • Assess accounting and reporting for management estimates, including litigation, self-funded insurance, and other areas of judgment

    • Assist in the integration of newly acquired businesses, including preparation of opening balance sheets, valuation documentation and other support

    • Prepare Xylem's annual impairment tests of indefinite lived intangible assets with third party valuation specialists

    • Prepare footnote disclosures in Xylem's Form 10-K and Form 10-Q

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as FP&A, legal, treasury, and operations, to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance

    • Participate in cross-departmental projects, providing accounting expertise and insights

    • Interface with internal and external audit for areas of responsibility

    • Perform special projects and analyses as assigned by the Senior Director of Technical Accounting and Reporting and Controller, Corporate

    QUALIFICATIONS :

    • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or business related field. CPA required.

    • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in Public Accounting.

    • Computer skills necessary, preferably Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & PowerPoint). Knowledge of Oracle, OneStream and Workiva a plus.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

    • Strong organizational and project management abilities.

    SALARY :

    The estimated salary range at this professional level is $120,000 to $160,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
