Manages high complexity design and planning of layout for assembly and materials handling. Adaptation of machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. Planning of sequence of operations and specification procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
This position is accountable for sustaining standard work so that work processes are repeatable and reliable
Developing, evaluating, improving and documenting manufacturing processes that improve manufacturability and eliminate process inefficiencies
Analyzing manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput
Collaborating with configuration control and design engineering regarding product tooling and design to ensure effectual production methods
Conferring with vendors in determining product specifications and arranging equipment, parts, or material purchase, and evaluating products according to quality standards and specifications
Working closely with production to develop, coordinate, and implement technical training for employees
Designing and developing manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes, and new products, and related fixtures and tooling that are consistent with zero defect level and low product cost
Creating and maintaining accurate documentation of tool drawings, design concepts, shop orders, and concepts in accordance with the R&D and quality assurance functions
Understanding lean principles and systems thinking is needed to effectively lead the projects and process improvement initiatives
Development of manufacturing processes of new chiller technologies for commercial applied systems
Collaborate with various organizations to support the development of the new program to ensure a seamless transition into stable production-sized manufacturing processes
Evaluating material systems for manufacturability and reliability
Lead the development of new products from the manufacturing engineering perspective
Driving design for manufacture and field service throughout the development process
Developing cutting-edge manufacturing processes
Identifying equipment and executing capital plans to meet the new program
Developing, evaluating, and documenting manufacturing processes that improve manufacturability and eliminate process inefficiencies

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
5+ years in manufacturing engineering/NPI
Design of experiments and data analysis technique knowledge
Proficient with Microsoft; Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Word
ASME, Pressure vessel and/or weld certification experience
Intermediate Level
