Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description

A client of Insight Global is looking for a mechanical design engineer to join their R&D Team in Dallas, Texas. This person will be working within their downhole technology suite. They will be establishing development plans and preparing for design reviews. They will also guide others on engineering tools, test specifications and assesses application of Health, Safety, and Environment techniques during the design process. This person will apply and interpret engineering calculations to obtain design solutions and troubleshoot erroneous results. This person will working within SolidWorks design environment. They will be working with Computational Fluid Dynamics to optimize the completion tools. They will also be using all things Microsoft for workflow productivity. They will be focused in the screens and inflow control devices team of R&D team. They will be working alongside their team one week a month (preassigned) in the office. Also, for the first week at least, it will be expected to be onsite to ramp up.

Skills and Requirements

• 5-10 years of mechanical design engineering experience

* CAD design experience

* Experience working within SolidWorks or similar design tool suite, such as Pro-E, AutoCAD

* Knowledge of fluid dynamics

* Experience with Microsoft suite

Willingness to work onsite one week of the month (predetermined Downhole tool or oil and gas experience null
