    Our team is looking to add a Mechanical Engineer in support of a multi-billion-dollar airport capital Redevelopment Program. The redevelopment will occur in the middle of an active airport. The existing terminal and concourses will remain operational while the new facility is built in place in a phased approach. This position allows for the opportunity to be a major contributor to the growth of one of the busiest airports in the world as part of the program management team. The position will report directly to the Design Manager. This position requires the individual to be based at the airport with the program management team.

    The position is part of a joint venture team and the selected candidate will be hired by one of the JV partners.

    Position Responsibilities

    • Support Project Managers with technical needs regarding mechanical project elements.

    • Provide recommendations for the technical direction of the program.

    • Participate in design review process as needed for all program elements.

    • Verify projects comply with program and code requirements.

    • Write RFQ, RFP and TOSR documents with an mechanical project focus.

    • Support the utilities team with mechanical load calculations for existing and future facilities.

    • Support creation and update of mechanical standards and specifications.

    • Evaluate and review cost estimates.

    • Participate in value engineering sessions.

    • Evaluation of design alternatives.

    • Provide miscellaneous technical support as required by the program.

    • Prepare detailed engineering drawings and specifications for miscellaneous design assignments as directed by the client.

    • Review engineering calculations, diagrams and technical reports.

    • Assess potential program risks associated with materials, schedule, and costs.

    • Other duties, as assigned.

    Here's what you'll need :

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

    • 5 years of related Mechanical Design experience

    • Knowledge and experience in design and or construction of large complex facilities (i.e. airport terminals, healthcare complexes, industrial campuses, multi-use facilities, etc.)

    • Previous experience with integration with and expansion of existing building systems including centralized heating and refrigeration plants and consolidated utility distribution tunnels

    • Ability to assess existing facilities and calculate existing load capacities as well as future load needs

    • Ability to utilize computer systems as a tool to effectively manage tasks

    • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record

    Ideally, You'll Also Have

    • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)

    • Experience with large capital programs from a design, construction, and operational aspect

    • Knowledge and experience in design and or construction of terminals, airport facilities, airside works and landside works

    • Specific knowledge of major terminal mechanical systems and their functionality including HVAC, BHS, plumbing, etc.
