  • Mini Excavator Operator

    The mini excavator operator performs skilled work in the operation of a variety of heavy construction equipment including labor tasks and working with other crew members ensuring safety and successful completion of underground utility projects.

    Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

    • Perform trenching and excavation tasks to prepare the work area for conduit installation, ensuring proper depth and alignment.

    • Handle conduit, pull boxes, materials, and other equipment required for the project, positioning them accurately for installation.

    • Ensure that excavation work meets project standards, blueprints, and design specifications.

    • Perform labor tasks and other duties as necessary.

    • Responsible for general upkeep of equipment.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Must be 18 years of age or older.

    • Able to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

    Education & Experience

    • The successful candidate must have a minimum 1-3 years of Backhoe and/or Mini Excavator operating experience in a construction job site environment.

    Pre-Screen

    • Upon offer, employees may be required to subject and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background and/or MVR check.

    License & Certifications:

    • Valid driver's license required.

    Travel Requirements

    • Potential travel required for temporary backup needs at other office locations.

    Safety

    Due to the inherently dangerous nature of the industry and requirements to work with or around hazardous equipment, employees must have sufficient eyesight to judge distance/coordination of equipment and tools, be able to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time, be able to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather while completing work assignments, be able to wear personal protective equipment as necessary, be able to enter and exit a vehicle numerous times a day, have the endurance necessary to traverse various terrain, be capable of performing job duties throughout a standard 8- or 10-hour day, be able to communicate with others, read, write, and comprehend written/verbal job instructions and information, and communicate and handle conflict professionally.
