Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnostic responsibilities include subspecialty interpretation of MSK, MRI, CT, ultrasound, and radiographs. Spine imaging interpretation is shared between the neuroradiology and MSK sections. Our team reads cases referred by Orthopedic Surgery, PM&R and Sports Medicine. Weekend call duties are shared by all section members and consist of MSK specialty-specific coverage.

• Experience in standard interventional MSK procedures such as CT-guided and ultrasound-guided biopsy, spine injection, and joint injection/aspiration is necessary, although we are happy to work with new colleagues to adapt their existing skills to our practice. A subset of attendings perform advanced interventions including kyphoplasty and tumor ablation, and opportunities in this area are available, though skills in this area are not required.

• The section employs two physician assistants who contribute to managing the procedural workload and associated clinical practice. The section supports two MSK fellows and teaches over 40 residents, many of whom go on to seek MSK fellowship training.

• The University of Colorado School of Medicine is located on the growing Anschutz Medical Campus east of Denver at the base of the Rocky Mountains, with access to all the benefits of living in Colorado. Clinical duties are based at the main hospital campus in Aurora with occasional off-site duties. All faculty members are supplied with personal workstations for occasional work-from-home duties.
