  • Our client, T. Rowe Price is seeking a Network Engineer to join their team.

    Job Title: Network Engineer

    Location: Pratt Street, Baltimore MD (onsite 5 days a week)

    Contract: 6 months (very likely to extend long term or convert to permanent)

    Pay Range: $49 - $52/hr

    What's the Job?

    Summary

    The main function of a Network Engineer is to determine user requirements and design specifications for computer networks. A typical network engineer is responsible for planning and implementing network upgrades. The candidate should have strong networking knowledge and good understating of how to use network troubleshooting tools and applications. The candidate will be required to perform data and voice installation and maintenance activities, fiber and cooper cabling and testing, and complete network patching and troubleshooting. The position requires a balance of working on day-to-day tasks as well as supporting efforts on projects both domestically and internationally

    Tops skills

    1) Cisco IOS/NxOS,

    2) networking layer2/3 knowledge

    3) TCP/IP

    4) CCNA Certifications required, CCNP preferred

    This resource will remediate network security vulnerabilities, upgrade IOS/NxOS, track network requests, manage MAN/Wan connections, support end-user edges devices.

    Ethernet, MM/SM Fiber cabling

    Cisco Layer 2/3 networking knowledge

    TCP/IP, STP, port channels, dot1x

    Cisco IOS/NxOS knowledge

    CCNA/CCNP Certifications (not required)

    EIGRP/OSPF/BGP and multicast

    Network monitoring,

    1st line fault resolution / escalation.

    Break-fix of local hardware

    Software upgrades / security vulnerabilities

    Hardware upgrades and replacement

    Job Responsibilities

    • Adjust network sizes to meet volume or capacity demands

    • Communicate with customers, sales staff, or marketing staff to determine customer needs

    • Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs or upgrades

    • Design, build, or operate equipment configuration prototypes, including network hardware, software, servers, or server operation systems

    • Determine specific network hardware or software requirements such as platforms, interfaces, bandwidths, or routine schemas

    • Develop and implement solutions for network problems

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required

    • 5-7 years experience required

    • Network/systems administration/related work experience required

    • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification a plus

    • Knowledge of computer hardware as it relates to data storage

    • Knowledge of computer software, such as configuration management software, desktop communications software, operating system software and internet directory services software
