  • ASRC Federal NetCentric has an opportunity for a Network Engineer - Senior supporting our customer in Aberdeen, MD.

    Some job responsibilities

    • Evaluates, designs, documents, installs, implements, tests, performs problem isolation and resolution, monitors, tunes, and sets standards.

    • Maintains a complex range of computer network components and systems.

    • Performs these functions across a wide range of network communication equipment to include security mechanisms, firewalls, protocol stacks, hubs, routers, bridges, gateways, digital servers, and network management components. Provides consulting and training on the interfacing and use of the network equipment.

    • Researches, evaluates, and recommends new computer network equipment and technologies.

    • Utilizes monitoring, performance analysis, network management, software and hardware equipment to troubleshoot and isolate problems, gauge network performance, and trace data and protocol activity.

    • Devises solutions to complex operational problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment. Develops and executes contingency plans for network software and hardware failures including isolated and major outages. Provides consulting, technical guidance, information and support to application operations.

    Requirements :

    MANDATORY REQUIREMENT: Clearance: Secret

    Hybrid must be able to work on-site as needed.

    Travel Requirement: Up to 25%

    Requirements:

    • Expertise in static routing and virtualized environments

    • Expertise in Cisco IOS and Networking; Palo Alto Networks OS; and Windows Server and Windows 10/11 communications

    • Knowledge Network security configuration expertise to include VPN, IPSec, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Certificate Authorities, Firewalls, and Active Directory

    • NetOps Tools including but not limited to: Solarwinds, Splunk, SNMPc

    • Experience with WIN-T or Army Tactical Network Configuration Items (CIs) and Architecture, plus.

    • Domain knowledge in execution of Monitors and responds to hardware, software, and network problems.

    • Ability to provide technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations. Designs, builds, and implements network systems.

    • Ability to compilation of records and reports concerning network operations and maintenance. Troubleshoots network performance issues. Analyzes network traffic and provides capacity planning solutions.

    • Conduct assistance and oversight for all information systems operations activities, including computer and telecommunications/communications operations, data entry, data control, LAN/MAN/WAN administration and operations support, operating systems programming, system security policy procedures, and/or web strategy and operations.

    • Knowledge of utilizing software and hardware tools and identifies and diagnoses complex problems and factors affecting network performance.

    • Experience in conduct analysis, testing, and providing recommendations in network communications, including LAN/MAN/WAN systems.

    Desired Certifications:

    • CCNA (CCNP preferred).

    • CompTIA Security+ and CompTIA Network+ (or ability to certify within 6 months of hire).

    • CISSP Certification

    Experience and Education:

    • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Math, IT, Engineering, or related field (work experience may substitute); and at least Seven years of related experience.
