    Fairview Health Services is hiring a Nuclear Medicine/PET/CT Spect/CT Technologist to join our Nuclear Med-Special Imaging department at our M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center - East Bank location in Minneapolis, MN. This position will be working primarily on the mobile PET/CT that travels daily to other Fairview facilities.

    This position is eligible for a $10,000. new hire Sign-on Bonus!!

    Schedule : This position will be working 1.0 FTE (80 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 hours on the day shift. This position will also work a weekend and call rotation.

    Responsibilities Job Description

    The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs all Nuclear Medicine procedures including PET/CT and SPECT/CT according to the Minnesota Department of Health established policies and procedures, methods and standards to provide quality patient care.

    Verify physician's order for procedure. Identify and measure appropriate radiopharmaceutical prior to injection to prevent misadministration.

    Greet and properly identify correct patient and provide a brief explanation of procedure.

    Confirm and document inventory of all radioactive material used, sorted and disposed of according to Minnesota Department of Health regulations and guidelines.

    Perform and record all required quality control procedures on specified equipment to ensure correct and accurate operation.

    Assess, prepare, record and administer radiopharmaceuticals according to Minnesota Department of Health regulations and department policies. Administer CT specific oral and intravenous contrast materials. Draw and evaluate patient glucose levels. Address as needed to perform PET/CT scan.

    Performance of Nuclear Medicine, PET/CT and SPECT/CT procedures on patients ranging in age from neonatal to geriatric. Provide quality information and care to patients, physicians, and staff.

    Select accurate technical factors for each particular study/patient to ensure quality imaging. Perform CT contrast administration using CT power injector. Perform SPECT/CT and PET/CT data fusion processing and management.

    Monitor and survey area for radiation contamination per Minnesota Department of Health regulations and guidelines including proper procedures for addressing radioactive spills.

    Responsible for 24 hour off-premise call duty and respond to emergency and / or stressful situations in a calm, professional manner.

    Work Saturday shifts as needed as well as assist in coverage at CCIR as needed.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    Education

    • Must have completed an accredited Nuclear Medicine Clinical Rotation and be Board eligible

    License/Certification/Registration

    • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists-Nuclear Medicine (ARRT-N) and /or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or must become board certified within 45 days of hire.

    • Basic Life Support certification ( BLS ) - from American Heart Association or American Red Cross and current before hire date

    Preferred:

    • Bachelor's Degree

    • 1 + years

    • Certified in Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) and /or Positron Emission Tomography (CNMT/PET)
