Operations Manager

Description

Robert Half is partnering with a manufacturing client in the recruiting for a Operations Manager for their sizable distribution facility located in Plymouth, WI. This manager will report to the Strategic Site Leader on site and responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the distribution center to ensure that all business objectives are achieved efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the daily operations of the distribution center including receiving, inventory management, order picking, shipping, and facility maintenance.

• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and customer service.

• Supervise, train, mentor, and lead a team of warehouse staff, ensuring top-level productivity and performance with LEAN practices.

• Plan and monitor the resources needed to meet business objectives.

• Manage valuable relationships with clients and vendors.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, local, state, and federal regulations concerning warehouse operations.

• Responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and achieving key performance indicators.

• Assist the management in implementing strategic plans to expand the center's operations.

• Coordinate and communicate effectively with other departments and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

• Supervisory/Management experience with unionized employees

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a distribution or logistics environment.

• Strong understanding of warehouse operations and supply chain management.

• Proficient in logistics and inventory management software.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities and detail-oriented approach.

• Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to deal with complex issues in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

• Understanding of health and safety regulations.
