  • Responsibilities

    Under the general direction of the Business Office Manager, the Patient Account Analyst Supervisor is primarily responsible for ensuring that all infusion/injection and radiation therapy orders are authorized and financially estimated in a timely manner to avoid delay and disruption of treatment. Oversees the daily activities of PAA department and conducts random audits of staff assignments, provides feedback and training based on findings. The supervisor is also responsible for patient account inquiries/requests and payment postings for payments made at the site under departmental protocols within business services, pre- AR, and financial assistance planning

    Salary Range: $64,369 - $79,496 (Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.)

    Qualifications

    Education

    Required: Bachelor's degree or 1 to 1: substitute years of equivalent supervisory/management

    Preferred: Master's degree

    Experience

    Required: Three years in similar field involving insurance verification, 3rd party payors, patient accounts and

    business office functions.

    Preferred: Eight (8) plus years' experience in designated supervision field with five (5) years or more

    supervision responsibilities.

    Billing knowledge of Epic sw and PCS systems.

    License(s)

    Required: Windows 95, Computer skills.

    Must ICD 9- 10 and CPT minimum one year coding experience in global billing.

    Fast and accurate data entry skills.

    Good knowledge of managed care contracts

    Preferred: CPC Not required but preferred

    Special Skills

    Required: Demonstrated ability to learn technological aspects of billing operations. (e.g. Imaging Software,

    Internet applications, and HIPPA transaction sets: Pymt Posting, Claim Submission)

    Strong working knowledge of healthcare/clinical/billing operations in a multi-specialty, multi-payor

    environment.

    Works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

    Proficient in the following Microsoft applications: Excel and Word.

    Previous customer service experience.

    Basic knowledge of health insurance.

    Type 30 wpm.

    Effective communication skills.

    Must be able to speak, hear, write, and read clearly.

    Preferred: EPIC Experience preferred but not required, will train onsite.

    Other

    Required: Strong organizational skills

    Must be self-directed, flexible, detail oriented and able to absorb new material quickly.

    Excellent interpersonal

    Excellent analytical skills.

    Direct management of a minimum of six (6) staff.

    Preferred: Managed care or practice operations background.

    Direct management of 15+employees/staff.
