  • Description We are offering a contract opportunity for a Payroll Accountant in the insurance industry. This position will be based in Charlotte, North Carolina, and will primarily function in an office setting. The role will involve handling payroll reconciliation, assisting with the implementation of new payroll systems, and working with various accounting software systems.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct reconciliation of payroll for Q1 2024, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

    • Assist in the development of new processes for reconciling cash, especially considering the complexity of weekly and semi-monthly payrolls for different employee categories

    • Work with ADP and other payroll systems to ensure smooth operation and accurate record keeping

    • Address and resolve classification issues arising from feeding GL from payroll

    • Handle off-cycle payrolls when necessary, adding an additional layer of complexity to the mix

    • Use various accounting software systems such as Ceridian and Costpoint to perform job duties

    • Implement automated payroll systems and maintain accuracy of payroll transactions

    • Perform auditing tasks related to payroll and ensure compliance with local and multi-state payroll tax regulations

    • Administer benefits such as 401k and RRSP, ensuring accurate and timely processing. Requirements - Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

    • Experience with ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now

    • Familiarity with Ceridian and Costpoint systems

    • Knowledge of 401k - RRSP Administration and About Time software

    • Understanding of Accounting Functions and Accounts Payable (AP)

    • Capable of conducting Auditing and handling ADP - Payroll

    • Experience with Automated Payroll and bi-Monthly Payroll

    • Ability to manage Multi-state Payroll and Local Payroll Tax

    • Experience with Multistate Payroll and Payroll functions

    • Familiarity with Payroll - Garnishments and Payroll - Multi-State

    • Ability to handle Payroll for over 500 Employees

    • Proficiency in Payroll Tax Reporting and Payroll Tax Returns

    • Knowledge of Payroll Taxes and Payroll Transaction

    • Ability to Reconcile Payroll and Reconcile Payroll Prior

    • Understanding of Tax - Payroll.
