The role you'll contribute:

The Registered Nurse will work under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing and Pharmacist.

The value you'll bring to the team:

1. Maintain adequate inventory of drugs under the supervision of the Pharmacist.

2. Monitor and record refrigerator temperature daily (nursing will do when pharmacy tech not here).

3. Maintain and restock ED and Med Room Pyxis as needed under supervision of pharmacist.

4. Assist with updates to formulary

5. Check on drug recall notices, remove stock, return product to vendor and communicate recall information to staff.

6. Responsible for the oversite and day to day operations of the 340B discount pharmacy program

7. Defrost refrigerator in pharmacy and ER.

8. Check outdates on all drugs monthly.

9. Remove old labels from bottles, clean and sanitize drug containers.

10. Clean shelving every six months.

11. Acquire MDSD sheets for all formulary drugs and keep manuals updated.

12. Provide info to P&T committee regarding possible formulary changes.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Wisconsin

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:

Previous pharmacy experience.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Valid State of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

• Previous pharmacy experience

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

• BLS obtained through the American Heart Association, ACLS and PALS (within 1 year of employment).
