What You'll Work On

The Shipping Clerk is responsible for executing the daily logistics activities as they relate to the shipping schedule. This includes working closely with all internal stakeholders to manage dock and yard asset utilization. This is accomplished through managing logistics related to systems such as Cambar and Lean Logistics and ensuring timely updating is completed for each load. The Shipping Clerk releases all full pallet picks to the dock in preparation for loading, bills all completed loads, communicates with drivers upon arrival while obtaining proper signatures and documentation, and files according to current practices. In addition, the shipping clerk is responsible for completing a set of daily tasks including report generation.

Main Responsibilities

• Prepare Bills of Lading

• Daily alignment/scheduling of LTL carrier pick-ups

• Manage carrier pick-ups according to the schedule in order to meet our customer service goals

• CAMBAR order release management

• Creation of PO's for third party receipts

• Sealing of trailers

• Carrier equipment compliance verification

• Inventory and ordering of office supplies

• Report creation and management.

• Act as the primary point of contact for truck drivers on all inbound and outbound loads delivered to the plant.

• Assists in coordinating on time shipments of 35+ trucks per day through proper communication with internal stakeholders.

• Completes all billing processes with accuracy and organization.

• Will be required to cross train and assist on floor as necessary to pick cases for customer orders.

You'll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED

• 2+ years experience in material control

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products as well as familiarity with the internet for online reporting duties

The base pay for this position is $16.55 - $33.15 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
