Principal Software Development Engineer - SaaS Cloud

Job Description

The SaaS Continuity Engineering team is responsible for the design and build of the systems and services that enables Oracle to deliver industry-leading availability and performance objectives for Oracle's SaaS services. The team architects and develops high-availability and service continuity solutions across the entire stack - infrastructure, database, platform, and application services - and all the dependent components. The engineering innovations enable SaaS services to be available to customers without any disruptions during any small or large-scale incidents. We are building the next-gen service continuity solutions in a fast-pace and innovative environment and looking for engineers who can develop services that operate at scale.

Your tasks include:

• Design major features and launching them into production.

• Operate high-scale services and understand how to make them more resilient.

• Develop services that are highly available, scalable, and redundant.

• Balance speed and quality with iteration and incremental improvements.

• Understand operational excellence and how to instill a culture of being proactive with your teammates.

• Drive tactical execution of features and projects, and own feature design.

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related fields

• 8+ years software engineering experience in a distributed cloud environment

• Hands-on experience in building and operating highly available and large scale services

• Strong development experience in Java, C++, or similar OO languages

• Experience with containers and cloud native components

• Experience with scripting languages for developing automations

• Experience in developing resilient and fault tolerant systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience developing services on a public cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle)

• Experience and understanding of cloud infrastructure services, regions, and multi-AD designs

• Building CI/CD pipelines with robust testing and deployment schedules

• Experience collaborating across engineering organizations

US: Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
