Project Accountant

Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a meticulous and methodical Staff Accountant to join our team. This role is pivotal to our Construction industry operations in ADDISON, Illinois, 60101-5600, United States. As a Staff Accountant, you will be instrumental in managing project costs, executing journal entries, and overseeing contracts in our ERP system.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage reports and KPIs to monitor project activity within the construction sector.

• Conduct audits on project cost projections and report any variances.

• Prepare and execute journal entries.

• Review and set up contracts within the ERP system.

• Manage invoicing for projects and follow up on receivables.

• Request Insurance Certificates, Bonds, and Waivers when necessary.

• Utilize skills in Construction Accounting and Work In Progress (WIP) to maintain an efficient billing process

Requirements - Must possess at least 2 years of experience in a staff accountant role.

• Proficient in Construction and Construction Accounting.

• Demonstrated knowledge of WIP - Work In Progress and Billing is required.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.

• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

• Ability to work within a team and independently as needed.

• Proven ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Familiarity with accounting software and applications.

• Must be detail-oriented and able to meet strict deadlines.

• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.

• Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn necessary systems.

• Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work effectively.
