Project Manager

Description

A custom automation company in West Michigan is looking for a Project Manager to support the team based on current workload. This company supports many industries including automotive, food packaging, aerospace and military / defense mainly on weld fixtures/weld automation, robot weld cells, etc. This individual will be primarily responsible for leading, overseeing and directing projects from concept, design and then build. Directly responsible for managing 2 machine designers and 10-12 machine builders.

o Work up front at a quoting level, support coming up with concept design & estimating.

o Individual will spend time in both the office and on plant floor. Responsible for talking to builders to understand issues with design.

o Direct, Coach, Support Designers on projects.

o Will be working with customers as needed to provide updates on projects.

o Oversee Projects - Scope Definition, scheduling, setting team expectations (design & build), set up and update timelines, etc.

o Ensure Projects are completed within budget and on-time.

o May interact / organize support from outsourced vendors and ensure quality & productivity.

o Utilize ERP System to track work and job time

Skills & Qualifications:

MUST HAVES

• Experience in Machine Design

• Experience managing projects from start to finish including timelines, quoting, costs, etc.

• MS Project experience for managing projects

NICE TO HAVES

• PMP Certification

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering

• Solidworks fluency

• Welding experience

• Automotive experience

• Global Shop Solutions ERP experience
