    Project Principal HSSE Manager

    KBR's Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) group is looking for a Project Principal HSSE Manager to lead HSSE initiatives on the multi-billion-dollar project.

    We are seeking an experienced leader who is capable of providing stakeholder management and influence with Global Project Execution within the Integrated Solutions (IS) Business Unit and KBR Sustainable Technology Solution (STS) Division. This role will be accountable for HSSE on a large-scale industrial project and will be crucial in ensuring the successful completion of the project by being proactive in risk identification and mitigation and by providing timely response and remediation of incidents across the global organization.

    This position will be in Houston, TX and mobilize to KSA in 2025

    Responsibilities

    • Define the project HSSE objectives, programs, and performance measurement standards

    • Timely response and remediation of incidents, proactive risk identification and mitigation across the Global organization

    • Ensure that adequate resources are assigned to all phases of the project to enable HSSE objectives to be reached

    • Ensure that the HSSE policies, plans and procedures are documented and implemented

    • Display all characteristics of KBR Leadership in the office and field, being a Leader of Safety within the organization

    • Comprehensively manage incidents, including root cause analysis and execution of necessary improvement efforts; deliver the expedient and clear communication of incidents to IS and Corporate leadership

    • Keep visibility of incidents and HSERS metrics, collect, and review leading and lagging safety data to predict and prevent future incidents

    • Provide leadership in hiring safety managers and their successful onboarding and understanding of KBR HSSE systems and standards; support and provide direction to all Project safety managers and support site personnel to enable the Zero Harm culture

    • Develop and maintain training programs for contractors and competencies of Regional Safety Managers

    • Collaborate effectively and align with all regions' site personnel to drive effective site safety program and culture

    • Lead and be the point of contact for reporting of safety data, analytics, incidents, and program advancement to the Project Director, and have dotted line reporting to Corporate EH&S team

    • Travel globally to regional offices, construction sites, customer offices, professional societies, conferences, etc Travel time of 25% minimum should be expected

    Experience & Skills

    • Bachelor degree in engineering or HSE related field

    • 15 + years of progressive experience, 5 + of which should be in management

    • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders

    • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job

    • Proven ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines

    • Attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner

    • Ability to analyze problems and determine resolution and a path forward

    • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport

    • If selected, candidate must be able to pass a drug screen and background check

    Additional Qualifications

    • Industrial construction background: ability to understand, interpret and apply regulatory requirements applicable to the project scope of work

    • Demonstrate high level of interpretive thinking and mature judgment

    • Skills demonstrating the capability to run the HSE function on large-scale projects

    • Advanced computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the advanced use of spreadsheets, electronic presentations, and databases

    • Effectively demonstrate high critical thinking/reasoning ability

    • Effective presentation skills including public speaking

    • Strong organizational and leadership skills

    • A valid driver's license, if required
