    QA Specialist- Microbiology/Sanitation - Primary Location - USA-St. Louis, MO

    SUMMARY :

    The QA Specialist serves in a technical support role in QEHS supporting both the hot and cold network. The QA Specialist participates as a team member on cross-functional teams, and leads projects to keep projects advancing against rigorous timelines. This role is remote with approximately 50% travel is required. This role will also include Copacker and Research and Development accountabilities.

    Shifts & Schedule: This full-time position will be supporting our Day Shift. Additional flexibility to work overtime. 50% travel required for this role.

    Compensation: This is an exempt, salaried position paid on a biweekly cycle. Compensation is flexible and determined by the candidate's experience level.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This position reports to the Manager Food Safety, Microbiology and Sanitation

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provide technical guidance based on test results and subject knowledge

    • Conduct Troubleshooting audits at manufacturing sites and establish Root Cause and Corrective Actions

    • Research, evaluate and recommend test methods as appropriate

    • Develop SOP's for Food Safety, Microbiology and Sanitation processes

    • Recommend applications of new technologies or methods

    • Conduct Food Safety, GMP, Sanitation, Aseptic, and Food Defense Compliance Audits at manufacturing sites

    • Conduct Food Safety, Sanitation and Microbiology Training at manufacturing locations and at Bottler Quality University

    • Conduct production line microbiological validation and commissioning for Aseptic Processing

    • Assign microbiological specifications for raw materials, syrups, concentrates, and finished products

    • Support sites in implementation and on going compliance with FDA Food Defense Regulations.

    • Support sites in pest and sanitation troubleshooting

    • Provide clear and practical recommendations to sites on matters related to Food Safety, Sanitation, Pest Control, Microbiology, and Food Defense.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology or Biology, Masters preferred

    • 2+ years of experience with a CPG company

    • Experience in aseptic systems a plus

    • Experience in RCCM of beverage processing equipment

    • PCQI, Juice HACCP, BPCS, FSSC 22000

    • Working knowledge of MS Office

    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to check own work

    • Be self-disciplined and highly motivated, with a passion for excellence

    • Ability to identify, define and analyze problems to find root causes and identify possible solutions.

    • Ability to collect relevant information, identify trends and patterns, and communicate

    • Work effectively as an individual contributor and in the team environment

    • Ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment, with demonstrated planning and organization skills

    • Perform other duties as requested by management.

    • Working knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices and ability to perform laboratory functions

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

    • Interacting, and communicating with other departments

    • Ability to follow Keurig Dr Pepper policies and procedures as well as live our company values

    • 50% travel primarily within the U.S. but can include Canada and Mexico
