  • Description

    A furniture manufacturer in West Michigan is looking for a quality engineer to support daily production issues and work hand in hand with team to implement / develop quality standards within each product line. Company has a large variety of product so needs to be adaptable to variety of product.

    • 1st focus is production: Understand daily issues, fire fighting and keep production up and running

    • 2nd focus: Work hand in hand with factory managers (responsible for quality within each product line) to understand and support implementation of quality processes

    • Drive problem-solving/corrective action

    • Proactive implementation of processes / improvements

    • Support New Product Launches

    • Make rounds around each product/assembly line to understand how quality can be improved

    • Work alongside Factory Managers, Operators, Engineering, etc.

    • Participate in "1st Piece Check" to determine if part looks good, determine how could be improved and accept part to continue or make necessary changes

    Skills & Qualifications:

    • Problem Solving Methodology

    • Assembly Experience (Upholstery, Fabric, Steel)

    • Furniture Industry Experience

    • 3-5 years in Quality Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering

    • Process Development from Scratch
