    • College degree with emphasis in Engineering or equivalent training;

    • Six Sigma knowledge.

    Key Job Elements:

    • In charge of three international customer accounts located in United Arab Emirates & Saudi Arabia;

    • Travel to both customer sites every quarter for fleet performance review;

    • Specializes in EMD diesel electric locomotive models SD70ACs, SD38s, GPL38s, GT46ACs which are powered by 710 & 645 two-stroke diesel engine;

    • Identifies, analyze and takes corrective action on reported service problems with EMD locomotives;

    • Manage locomotive fleet performance using organizational formulas to drive projects and improve locomotive fleet reliability & performance;

    • Assists and reviews development of problem resolution action plans for EMD diesel electric locomotives;

    • Support our commercial team with aftermarket parts sales;

    • Working close with various Progress Rail organizational structures such as engineering, sales, commercial, logistics, legal, human resources, service and leadership team;

    • Manages efforts within the department and organization to facilitate problem resolution;

    • Communicates action plans and progress to both field service team and our customers;

    • Evaluates workloads and establishes priorities of work needing to be performed;

    • Provides technical assistance and instruction to both customers and service employees;

    • Reviews and approves service engineering & technical publications such as Service Release, Maintenance Instructions, Modernizations Recommendations, Service Advisories, Best Practices & Troubleshooting Guides;

    • Completes necessary reports for rail division Directors, VP's as well as customers;

    • Creates and participates in the development and improvement of departmental structure & procedures;

    • Practices regular contact with others outside the work group such as customers and suppliers;

    • Travel as required to perform duties;

    • Special assignments as needed;

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Good oral and written communication skills;

    • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others motivate employees and elicit work output;

    • Knowledge of divisional service and warranty policies and procedures;

    • High level of product knowledge and mechanical aptitude;

    • High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult;

    • Ability to travel internationally and domestically as required.

    Essential and Physical Activities Functions

    • Strength - Position involves work in a standard office environment. Frequent sitting. Occasional standing, walking. Rare lifting;

    • Motion - Position requires standard repetitive motions and hand/eye coordination associated with research and central office communications;

    • Vision/Hearing Requirements - Frequent communications, including both talking and hearing;

    • Work Environment - Position will typically be located in an office environment;

    • Emotional Demands - Must be self-motivated and willing to work 24/7, due to expected calls from customers day or night. May be required to take up to 50+ calls a day and keep up with all the other issues at hand;

    • Safety - Position is primarily limited to general office safety and travel requirements. May involve occasional exposure to hazardous conditions requiring use of PPE.
