  • The Center for Digital Health and Artificial Intelligence (CDHAI) at JHU Carey Business School is seeking a full-time Research Program Manager, CDHAI. The center's extensive program portfolio includes research and education projects across a broad range of digital health technologies and AI which require close collaboration with federal sponsors, academic researchers, and industry partners. The successful candidate will have responsibility for education, research, outreach, and programmatic duties and supervision across multiple projects.

    Specific Duties & Responsibilities

    Research

    • Partner with study PIs and collaborators in the planning and implementation of research projects.

    • Participate in scientific discussions with PIs and research teams for projects.

    • Lead development, ongoing maintenance, and implementation of project standard operating procedures, IRBs, and work plans.

    • Support the dissemination of papers and projects (supporting publication submission, social media management, and the like).

    • Facilitate communication between research teams that cross sites and institutions.

    • Work with budget analyst to ensure accurate billing and that projects are completed within budget.

    • Education and Outreach.

    • In conjunction with co-directors, develop materials for Executive Education program on Health Care and Artificial intelligence.

    • Manage marketing communications in collaboration with internal and external marketing and communications channels, serving as editor of CDHAI's newsletter, and developing CDHAI's web presence and social media presence.

    • Provide and promote regular and consistent communication with managers and across the CDHAI team, seeking guidance when needed.

    Administrative

    • Manage major events hosted by the center, such as the Conference on Health IT and Analytics (CHITA), the Responsible AI Symposium, and other seminars and related academic and industry events.

    • Collaborate with CDHAI staff and directors, Carey events and marketing teams, and other support departments across the University to navigate logistics and secure the necessary resources for seamless execution of events.

    • Monitor project budgets and allocation of project resources.

    • Plan agendas and coordinate all project meetings.

    • Review, edit, distribute minutes from project meetings.

    • Assure project management tasks are completed (e.g., prioritization, timeliness, milestones, monitoring status).

    • Participate in project and consortium meetings and contribute high level operational management.

    • Work in coordination with research team to ensure accuracy, proper organization and advanced preparation of reports to funding agencies.

    • Draft human subjects research study protocols for submission to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and management of ongoing study protocols including preparation of annual reports and protocol amendments.

    • Assist with grant writing under guidance of the PIs.

    Supervision

    • Interviews, hires, and trains project staff with guidance from PIs as appropriate.

    • Supervises project staff.

    • Identifies project staff who are behind in project activities and helps when needed.

    • Execute programs and projects by deploying best practices for project management, assigning resources, delegating tasks, employing and supervising student assistants and fellows, and delivering and presenting projects to clients and stakeholders.

    • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills to facilitate collaboration with diverse staff and investigators.

    • Ability to recruit, manage and develop research staff.

    • Proactive and passionate about continuing improvement of the workflow.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.

    • Five years related experience, including demonstrated supervisory or lead responsibilities.

    • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Related Master's preferred.

    • Acquainted with health care and/or Artificial Intelligence (AI) terminology and practices.

    • Two or more years' working in health information technology or related field.

    • Experience with multisite research projects.

    Starting Salary Range: Min $55,200 - Max $96,600 Annually ($70,000 targeted; Commensurate with experience)
